Are zero-proof spirits Halal certified in Singapore?
Barnes & Brown 0.0% ABV spirits contain no measurable ethanol. Official Halal rules differ by market. The products are sold in the UAE and Saudi Arabia; Singapore requires MUIS approval. We are working towards that certification and will update this page when it is in place. Until then, do not treat the bottles as MUIS-certified.
0.0% ABV is not the same as a Halal mark
Are zero-proof spirits Halal certified in Singapore? Two things sit on the label. First: alcohol. A printed 0.0% ABV means no measurable ethanol. Second: a recognised Halal certificate. That is a separate process. Zero-proof, alcohol-free or non-alcoholic does not stand in for a logo.
In Singapore the mark that venues and kitchens look for is issued under MUIS. If the bottle does not carry that mark, treat it as not certified here — even at 0.0% ABV.
UAE, Saudi Arabia and Singapore
Barnes & Brown products are sold in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Each market sets its own import and certification rules. What is accepted in one Gulf market does not automatically apply in Singapore.
For Singapore we need MUIS approval. That work is underway. This website will be updated once certification is in place. We will not list the range as Halal certified in Singapore before that happens.
What to check now
- Printed ABV — 0.0% if you want no measurable alcohol.
- Whether your venue or household requires a MUIS mark, not only a 0.0% label.
- How the liquid is made. Botanical extraction without fermentation is a different starting point from dealcoholised wine or beer.
